2008 Banquet
The 22nd annual Broward chapter banquet will be held on Friday, October 3, 2008 at the IGFA Hall of Fame and Museum.  Last years event was a sell out, so get your tickets early.

The Broward chapter recently volunteered to work at the Pompano Beach Saltwater Shootout fishing tournament which is coordinated by tournament director, Jamie Bunn of Bluewater Movements, Inc. in Lighthouse Point, FL. This year’s tournament was another huge success and over 130 boats fished the event. The Broward chapter volunteers signed up over 35 new members and the CCA member who caught the biggest fish was awarded $500.00. This years lucky winner was Buddy Tight who caught a 36.8 pound blackfin tuna. Congratulations to Buddy and to Jamie Bunn of Bluewater Movements, Inc. for another great tournament. Do not forget about the second leg of this three part tournament series. The next tournament is The Saltwater Slam which will be held on June 12-15th. We hope to see you there! Please contact CCA Florida regional Director John Warren at 954-296-8770 to purchase tickets, for more information on the banquet, to donate merchandise or to get involved in the 2008 banquet activities.

The Broward chapter would like to thank Jimmy Flanigan and Augie Bucci of Flanigan’s Enterprises, Inc for choosing CCA Florida as the charity of choice for the new store opening at 2190 South University Drive in Davie, Florida.   The VIP party thrown for the Broward chapter and guests was to promote the kick off of yet another fantastic Flanigan’s Seafood Bar and Grill.  With the help of the Flanigan’s staff and Broward Committee member, Terry Harper, over $3500.00 was raised for CCA Florida’s continued efforts to protect and preserve Florida’s marine resources.  Flanigan’s has been in South Florida for over 40 years and has always been committed to the recreational fisherman and their love for the outdoors.  If you have a chance, stop in a Flanigan’s near you in Martin, Palm Beach, Broward or Dade to enjoy great food, great folks, some incredible fishing photos and awesome fish mounts.
