CCA Joins Governor DeSantis and Johnny Morris for the Launch of Anglers for the Bahamas

On Thursday, CCA joined Governor Ron DeSantis, Bass Pro Shops founder and conservationist Johnny Morris and other partners for the launch of “Anglers for the Bahamas” – an effort to support the people of the Bahamas in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian. CCA Florida is a proud partner in conservation for the effort.

“Last Friday, I toured the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian in the Bahamas by air and saw firsthand the devastation of the Abaco Islands and Marsh Harbor,” said Governor DeSantis. “This week I was proud to announce our state has teamed up with FPL to donate more than half a million bottles of water along with the $11 million in generous donations from Floridians and corporations. Today, I’m proud to be with Bass Pro as they launch recovery efforts and raise significant funds to assist the people of the Bahamas in their time of need.”

Governor DeSantis has been working to harness the generosity of Floridians, individuals, corporations and non-profits to help the people of the Bahamas. The Governor has also worked closely with Ambassador John Rood, a former ambassador to the Bahamas during the George W. Bush Administration, to further advise on Hurricane Dorian relief efforts.

There are many ways to help with relief efforts. We are compiling a list of opportunities on our site, including how you can donate to the Anglers for the Bahamas initiative. Thank you in advance for joining the effort, and a special thank you to our partners at Engel Coolers for their $25,000 contribution to this initiative!
